Ive never been to Colorado, but I would love to see it firsthand.

I will say if you do go to Hermit Island, dont take any campsites on the Branch side, its just a small inlet and there is no ocean view. Also the mosquitoes tend to be VERY heavy on that side. If you look at the map of the place you can see the West Dune Way road, those sites are excellent. There are cottage rentals too, if you want a solid roof over your head.
