Good evening thread! Its been a while since I've been able to stop back here, so to Rock Florida, bluezhound, fan from japan, and lennon lives, and a couple others I know I'm forgetting, I hope your all doing spectacular! I myself, not too shabby at all, enjjoying life, and the good tunes in radio, of course.
"Just a Song Before I Go".......... Crosby, Stills, and Nash
is what I got on right now. The song was written by Graham Nash from an immediate point of view, that of going on a concert tour and having to leave loved ones behind. Nash was, in fact, about to go on tour with David Crosby and was waiting to go to the airport. Nash composed "Just a Song Before I Go" on a dare. The young man who was to take him to the airport was talking to Nash about songwriting, and he finally said to Nash, "We've got fifteen minutes, bet you can't write a song in that time." Nash did just that. You can find this tune on their 1977 album, "CSN", or their greatest hits cd that came out in 2005, and I suppose a few other albums I just dont happen to have.

Great post, Scoreface, Jack can shred, no doubt.
Kiss Off - Violent Femmes
I think this is one of the three best, most influential albums of the eighties. The other two would be Document by REM and Joshua Tree - U2.
Hope you all had a great weekend, back to work tomorrow.

Blue raider,
I totally agree with you about The Joshua Tree and Document.
2 of my all-time favorite albums. You don't ever need to skip a song on them.
I'm not familiar enough with the Violent femmes but I will take your word for it.
Cocaine by Eric Clapton
(this one doesn't make you feel like you've got the dollar bill up your nose however)

Alrighty folks, I'm signing off for the night, you and yours take care and keep the tunes rollin' : ) I'll leave you with what I'm leaving with.......
Sanford - Townsend Band "Smoke From A Distant Fire"
You left me here on your way to paradise
You pulled the rug right out from under my life
I know where you goinÂ’ to I knew when you came home last night
'Cause your eyes had a mist from the smoke of a distant fire
Lord, I was stung shoulda' seen it come a long time ago.
When I realized the reality gave me a role
If things are the same then explain why your kiss is so cold
and that mist in your eyes feels like rain on the fire in my soul
This lying, and cryin', is upsettin' and gettin' ya no where
It don't stack up, so slack up and pack up
I just don't care
Don't let the screen door hit you, on your way out.
Don't you drown when your dream boat runs onto the ground
I'd just like to know do you love him or just making time
by filling his glass with your fast flowing bitter-sweet wine.
He'll taste the aftertaste when you come home late some night.
With your eyes all a mist from the smoke of a distant fire.
Girl your eyes have a mist from the smoke of a distant fire.
(Girl your eyes have a mist from the smoke of a distant fire)
Girl your eyes have the mist from the smoke of a distant fire.
(Girll your eyes have a mist from the smoke of a distant fire)
