Coach Johnson Leaves The Farm

Posted on: April 10, 2008 4:29 pm

Well well well, Coach Johnson has decided to take his act to The Bayou.  Nice move Trent.  Did you see the writing on the wall that after next year you weren't going to be asked back?  Maybe you saw that the only two reasons you experienced any success in the Pac 10 were both leaving for the NBA?  Or maybe, just maybe, you felt that it wasn't going to get any better anytime soon at Stanford, so instead of sticking it out and trying to make a go of it you opt for the easy way out.  Nice move Trent!!!

It would have taken a real coach to win in the elite Pac 10 without two 7 footers.  I guess you didn't feel you were up for the task.  Funny how your own comment about having recruited the Lopez Brothers gave you at least three years of job security.  Maybe you should be named Prophet Johnson.  Of course, you get no credit for recruiting them as they were coming to Stanford no matter who the coach was.

In closing, I would like to compliment you on your creative offensive schemes this past season.  Dumping down low to Brook and Robin showed what a true genious you are.  What other coach would have/could have dreamed that up the way you did.

The mark of a great coach is one that leaves his/her program in better shape than when they arrived.  I find it easy to say that you have failed miserably to do this.  Nice job Trent!!
