Philadelphia - The City of Brotherly HATE!

I have always been one of those guys that believes in respect. I don't have any problem going to a game and enjoying myself and letting opposing fans enjoy their night out. I am not naive enough to expect that from others, but I do expect some decency...except as it relates to Philly fan. Philadelphia is another story entirely. Year after year, I am always impressed to see the new lows that Philly fans will stoop to. And no one is immune to it. Whether you are the opponant or a hometown player in a slump. You get it from the minute you enter to the time you leave. This past Friday when the Phillies hosted the Mets, they showed their true colors once again when the Mets Jose Reyes appeared to be injured after a collision with Phillies Chase Utley. They were of course screaming for encores, raising the ire or former Phillies and current Mets pitcher Billy Wagner. After the game, Wagner said "this is about the only place I've ever seen somebody get cheered when they get hurt... They boo Santa Claus. What's it tell you? They've taken it to a whole new level when you're cheering for somebody to be hurt." Thanks Billy. I had forgotten about the Santa part. It just adds to my take.

Philly fans have serious issues. And its not just the baseballers...its every sport. The same knucklehead fans show up for Eagles games, Flyers games and Sixer games too. They have shamed most of the good and decent fans of Philly to the point they don't want to even show up for games. The only game played in Philadelphia that is immune is the annual Army/Navy game, and thats because the the Corps and the Middies show up in force. If not for the huge military prescence in the stands, no doubt Philly fan would be lobbing beer bottles on the pushup guys, rolling out pro-Bin Laden cheers as they swipe the mule and goat on the way out of the stadium. Philadelphia is a great sports town, but the whacked out fans are an absolutely embarrasment. They are puss-filled sore on the cheek of American sports.

I hope you get hurt one day and I'm there to cheer... Do i need to remind you that you have a picture  of  a pirate on your page... which means either you're 12 or haven't been laid in as many years.  I can't wait to read your next blog on Star Trek conventions and the joys of gaming.

First of all, thank you for your comment. Its actually great that you actually created an account at CBS Sportsline just for the purpose of leaving a comment and confirming what I just said about Philly fans. Nice job, loser. Name calling and sophomoric comments only make you look stupid, which gives my argument even more traction. I will address one thing you said. I am well aware I have a Pirate on my page. I graduated a proud Pirate from East Carolina University 10 years ago. As tempting as it is to just delete this comment, I will just leave it as a reminder that I not everyone agrees with me, but those with at least a high school education probably do.

See man your point is exactly right, Philly fans are the scum of the Earth. Being a new york fan im not going to see we are the nicest people in the would but I went to a few FLyers games vs the Rangers this year and one time it was great i had the best time sat with awesome people who knew alot about hockey and we all had a blast. The other times i sat near pure trash and got thrown out one time defending ourselves and had to knock a fan down the stairs but them ebing scum is nothing new, the havent one a championship in god knows how long they're just cryin...good post man!

Philadelphia - The City of Brotherly HATE!

philly fans are the worst, i used to work event staff at the vet for eagles' games when i was in college.  they are definately the most obnoxious, abusive, and vile sports fans on the planet.  but as bad as they are, they are better than a gay pirate avatar and a silly name like keywest corona.  now go back to pulling your pudd thinking of jack sparrow while you listen to cheeseburger in paradise you socially maladjusted piratephile
