I have not the slightest clue.I don't either JD. It is rather sicking and sad, because the children are  always the ones that get caught in the middle of adult stupidity. They are suppose to be able to depend on adults to protect them. To have 400 children removed. It's really horrible.

It almost reminds me of the Branch Davidians and David Koresh, minus the shootout.  It is always the kids who are the main ones to get hurt because of inept adults getting duped by some moron.

JD:

I am not sure I understand all that is going on there in Texas.  My stupidity--probably at fault!  Can you help me out?  Are the 400 plus kids that were rounded up all the child "brides" of these polygamists? Or were some of them offspring of said unions?  Maybe the Texas authorites just rounded up all the kids to protect the identities of the young girl or girls that called for help??  How do these men acquire these young girls in the first place?  Do they entice them in somehow or just "round them up?"

Whatever, it sounds pretty appalling.  They must not be treating the young girls very well, if they are calling the police for help!  How about the quote that since they dressed the same way as the locals there must not be any problem!!

How can this happen in 21st century America?  Simple.  America is a nation founded on religious freedom.  We've taken that position had held it sacrosanct for generations going so far as to ensure the freedom to worship as you see fit is held above a great many others.  Only when the authorities have definitive proof of illegal activities do they intervene.  Even then they are very reluctant to do so since it frequently turns out poorly for the government (Branch Davidians) and the religious fanatics who usually wind up dead.
