Top 5 Unrestricted NBA Free Agents for 2008

Posted on: May 9, 2008 7:09 pm

1.  Antawn Jamison, Wizards - An underrated 20-10 guy and a good teammate.

2.  Corey Maggette, Clippers - Expected to opt out of his contract, he averaged over 20 PPG for the woeful Clippers this season.

3.  Beno Udrih, Kings - A solid PG who is overlooked due to playing for a small-market Sacramento team.

4.  Kurt Thomas, Spurs - An underrated double-double threat who will do the dirty work and hit a 15-foot jumper.

5.  Ricky Davis, Heat - A durable player, as shown by his 82 games played this season for the woeful Heat.  He could be a good bench scorer a la Jerry Stackhouse.

Notable restricted free agents include Andre Iguodala, Josh Smith, Emeka Okafor, Monta Ellis, Luol Deng, Andris Biedrins, and Ryan Gomes, which means that their respective teams have a right to match any offer given to them.  So if I was you, I wouldn't gets my hopes up on the possiblity of one of those guys landing with your team.

Top 5 Unrestricted NBA Free Agents for 2008

Will Cuban finally spend big to get a physical low post player to complement Dirk?

Can he put enough zeros on a check that the Bobcats or Wolves will not match?

Or will it be soft in the middle business as usual for the great regular season, playoff cream pie Mavs?
