--Senior CB Joe Burnett ranks second on the UCF career charts with 12 interceptions, which is tied for second among active returning NCAA FBS players.

--Senior OT Pat Brown is the anchor of an offensive line that returns only two starters. Brown will be a fourth-year starter and has more starts at left tackle than any player at his position in the country.

SPRING MOVERS

LB Cory Hogue -- The Knights were young at linebacker last season but return everyone this time around. The best of the bunch in the spring was Hogue, who "had a great, not good spring," according to UCF coach George O'Leary.

C Mike Lavoie and RG Cody Minnich -- UCF entered the spring looking for three new starters on the offensive line and Lavoie and Minnich stepped up at their respective positions.

DE David Williams -- Williams moved from linebacker and emerged as a candidate for the starting spot at end.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I think I want to keep competition at that position. I will probably name one sometime in the middle of preseason if somebody were to develop to the point where I think he deserves to be No. 1. Right now I think evaluations are still being made. Competition still needs to be there. I'll reserve judgment on that position until we get back in preseason or something changes my mind over the summer. Probably in the second or third week of preseason I'll name a starting quarterback. We need to keep competition at that position." -- UCF coach George O'Leary, on the competition between junior Michael Greco and redshirt freshman Joe Weatherford for the starting quarterback job.

Only a few comments have been posted about the "I'm not talking to you!" approach to media relations GOL has recently adopted.

In my humble opinion, it sounds like GOL is mad because his actions and his program are being scrutinized. So he says to the Sentinel the equivalent of, "I'm going to hold my breath until you take it back!" He has painted himself into ...(more)
