Murray State's Ehrhardt has felony charge reduced

MURRAY, Ky. -- A judge reduced a felony charge to a misdemeanor against Murray State quarterback Jeff Ehrhardt, who pushed a campus police officer and took his ticket book.

Ehrhardt pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct Tuesday. He received a 90-day suspended sentence, must pay a $178 fine and perform 20 hours of community service work, according to Tona Steger of the Calloway County Attorney's Office.

Ehrhardt must write a letter of apology to the university's Public Safety Department, she said Wednesday.

Ehrhardt was charged with second-degree robbery April 9. He surrendered to the campus public safety office after a witness identified him. He acknowledged he took the citation book to win a $20 bet.

Murray State spokesman Dave Winder said Wednesday that Ehrhardt remains on the team.

It is a joke that parking enforcement "officers" are beginning to get the same protection as police officers!  they are not helping public safety, only collecting money.  by the same logic it should be just a bad to mess with a collections officer who harrasses people on the phone.  how about making it more serious to assault a TEACHER, rather than a freaking meter maid.&n ...(more)

This guy pushes a police officer around, takes his ticket book away from him, and a judge reduces charges, gives him  a suspended sentence, and he is allowed to stay on the team. When  are these guys going to be held responcible for their actions. If the average person did that he would probably get some jail time. Altogether to often atheletes, both amater and pro skate with little or n ...(more)
