After his debut season of 2003, when the Huskies were just 10-17, coach Lorenzo Romar had a good feeling.
Just as he does now, following the first losing campaign they've suffered since that first year.
"I remember being in the airport talking to a few of the guys, and everyone was fired up," Romar told the Seattle Times, looking back at the season-ending loss to UCLA five years ago.
"Not that we lost, but that, 'You know, we've got a chance to be pretty good next season.' And that began the run of three years (in the NCAA tournament).
"And I really feel like that right now," Romar said, "because we will have experience and improved guard play and pretty much everybody back except for Ryan (Appleby) and Tim (Morris). So I feel like we can be a much better team."
This Washington team finished eighth in the Pac-10 and was 16-17 overall. But junior forward Jon Brockman, the Huskies' best player, shares his coach's optimism.
"We can be tough next year," Brockman said. "I know we said that last year. But I think we have a lot more guys who have played this year, who got experience and made huge steps.
"We need to keep working in the offseason, but we can come back and really be a different team and end this thing on a lot more positive note."

Huskies recruit Isaiah Thomas has finally earned a qualifying ACT score, so he should be eligible next season to play for UW, assuming he can complete his last month of classes at South Kent Prep School. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/cbasketball/361828_umen06.html
Hey guys, I'm trying to set up a sim league starting next season, where a simulator plays out the game and gives you realistic scores and stuff, and your Huskies are still available! If you are interested or ha

Luckily for the lowly poodles, there was a third tournament implemented. The poodles can now show off their sub-mediocrity to the rest of the world that WILL NOT be watching. The NIT once agains turns their noses up at the purple and gold (fool's gold?). It must suck watching your two rivals get to the NCAA tournament the last two years and you ladies can't even make the NIT.&nbs

Good job huskies on a good season. You beat UCLA and that was the biggest upset of the pac tens season. So congrats huskies. Waitting for next year for next year it is your time to shine.
Well i see AAAAAAA has already made a thread about this but i prefer not to reply to anything that buffoon has to say. We play our first game Wednesday at home against Valparaiso. Obviously this wasn't our desired outcome for the season but it is a nice reward to keep playing at least for our seniors Appleby and Morris and the youngsters can get more experience. If Brockma
I've seen a couple of posts from Dawg fans talking about the upcoming recruiting class for Husky Basketball. Being stuck down here in California, I don't get much local info like that. Who's got the skinny on how the incoming class shapes up?
