It was another hard-luck season for a struggling program.

Stony Brook suffered through its third straight single-digit win season.

The Seawolves can take some momentum into the offseason, though, with their solid finish to the year. They shocked Vermont and then beat Maine in the opening round of the conference tournament.

Stony Brook's modest run ended at the hands of regular-season champion UMBC in the tournament quarterfinals.

"We just couldn't make enough stops on the defensive end," explained coach Steve Pikiell, who praised his team's effort after the season-ending loss.
