FINAL RECORD
8-22, 6-12, tied for seventh in SWAC.

WHAT WENT RIGHT
Aaron Smith was a big pickup for the Panthers. Wins at Jackson State, at Grambling and at Alcorn kept the Panthers in the race until the end. There were only three games in the SWAC where the Panthers lost by more than 10 points.

WHAT WENT WRONG
The Panthers were 3-6 on their home court, and if they had managed at least one more win at home, they would have been in the tournament.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"The thing that is most disappointing is that I truly believed we could play with any team in the country. We just did not play with any consistency." -- Prairie View coach Byron Rimm.
