THE GOOD NEWS
Maine returns every key player except for senior center Brian Andre. Freshmen forwards Sean McNally, Troy Barnies and guard Robby Hanzlik are ready for bigger roles next season.

THE BAD NEWS
With senior center Brian Andre departing, Maine could be very vulnerable inside. The Black Bears hope 6-10 sophomore Jordan Cook develops quickly.

KEY RETURNEES
Sophomore guard/forward Mark Socoby led the Black Bears in scoring (14.0), rebounding (5.7) and minutes (35.7). Junior guard Kaimondre Owes (12.7 points) and sophomore point guard Junior Bernal (10.8 points, 3.0 assists) give the Black Bears a promising foundation.

ROSTER REPORT

--Sophomore Mark Socoby scored a career-high 30 points in the America East Tournament loss to Stony Brook. He set a tournament record by draining nine 3-pointers. Socoby was the only Black Bear to make an all-conference team, earning third-team honors.

--Point guard Junior Bernal missed five games with a bad ankle sprain and was not 100 percent in the America East Tournament. Still, the gritty sophomore played 41 minutes in Maine's 73-65 overtime loss to Stony Brook. He had nine points, five rebounds, two assists and three turnovers.

--Freshman forward Sean McNally is a keeper. He grabbed 13 rebounds and scored nine points in Maine's conference tournament loss. But McNally committed five turnovers, exacerbating one of the Black Bears' biggest problems. McNally averaged 4.9 rebounds this season and will be a key inside player next year.
