THE GOOD NEWS
By the time Kennesaw State is eligible for postseason play in the 2009-10 season, freshmen Kelvin McConnell and Tanner Jacobs could be one of the most formidable inside-outside tandems in the Atlantic Sun. In conference play, they averaged a combined 17.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

THE BAD NEWS
The Owls have a bad habit of letting cold shooters try to shoot their way out of slumps. Golden Ingle shot 34.2 percent from the field in 2005-06 and just 29.1 percent in 2006-07. In 2007-08, leading scorer Ronell Wooten shot 37.4 percent. Redshirt freshman John Allison, the school's first 7-footer, tallied zero points and two rebounds in the month of February.

KEY RETURNEES
McConnell shot 41.6 percent (52-of-125) from 3-point distance and scored in double digits in 12 of his last 20 games. Jacobs ranked fifth in the league in offensive rebounds (2.7 per game) and 11th in field-goal percentage (47.9) and had three double-doubles. Junior guard J.D. Pollock was fourth in the A-Sun in steals. Forward Jay Mitchell, a Texas Tech transfer, will join the Owls after sitting out the 2007-08 season.

ROSTER REPORT

--Senior forward Ronell Wooten finished his career with 1,633 points, second-most in Kennesaw State history and just 50 points behind all-time leader Herman Smith. Wooten led the Owls in scoring (16.8) this season and ranked second on the team in steals (1.7) and third in rebounding (4.9). He had 12 20-point games.

--With 21 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in the season-ending victory at Mercer, senior forward Shuan Stegall became a member of the 1,000-point club. He reached the milestone with a short jumper in the paint at the 18:55 mark of the second half. He led the Owls this season in rebounding (7.6), assists (3.0) and double-doubles (eight).
