FINAL RECORD
16-17, 9-11 in the Southern Conference (third in South Division)

WHAT WENT RIGHT
The young Cougars really stepped up, especially freshman Andrew Goudelock, who immediately became one of the team's best players and leaders in his freshman season. Charleston was able to be competitive with a starting lineup of two freshmen, a sophomore and two juniors. The Cougars were able to put points on the board, averaging more than 72 points a game.

WHAT WENT WRONG
On the defensive end, the team's inexperience showed, with the Cougars allowing opponents to score more than 72 points a game. The team had a number of close games, going 5-5 in contests decided by five points or less and 0-3 in overtime games.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We just didn't have it. We didn't have it tonight. We were out of sync. I just kept on thinking if we could just get over the hump, but we just couldn't get there." -- College of Charleston coach Bobby Cremins told the Post and Courier about the Cougars' season-ending loss to Elon in the Southern Conference semifinals.
