THE GOOD NEWS
The defense. UAPB led the SWAC in scoring defense at 64.3 and field-goal percentage defense at .404 and was second in blocked shots a game at 4.83.

THE BAD NEWS
The loss of five seniors who accounted for about 41 points a game. William Byrd was also a force around the boards. The Golden Lions will be in for a major rebuilding effort next season.

KEY RETURNEES
Sophomore G Terrance Calvin averaged 6.7 points a game, while sophomore G Allen Smith contributed 4.8 points a game. Sophomore G Cory Norman started two games in the SWAC tournament. Freshman F Ricky-Batsell Parks stepped up on a few occasions. Sophomore George Davis will be counted on heavily on the boards next season.

ROSTER REPORT

--Freshman G Gavin Montgomery was the lone freshman to get a start during the season, participating in 17 games, while starting two and averaging 1.9 points a game.

--Sophomore G Cory Norman made two starts in the SWAC tournament after starting only one game all season.
