FINAL RECORD Overall 23-12, 9-7 SEC, second place in Western Division.
WHAT WENT RIGHT The Razorbacks went 15-1 at home and won two SEC road games on their way to a third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. A No. 9 seed in the East Regional, the Razorbacks knocked off eighth-seeded Indiana for their first win in the NCAA tourney since 1999. The Razorbacks also made it to the championship game of the SEC tournament for the second consecutive year after beating regular-season champion Tennessee in the semifinals.
WHAT WENT WRONG After winning their first two conference games, the Hogs dropped two in a row to Eastern Division tailenders, including one at home to South Carolina and a 13-point loss at Georgia. They also lost their last six conference road games and never really challenged Mississippi State in the division race. The Hogs never really took full advantage of their size inside and ended up in the middle of the pack in rebounding in the SEC and ended up making more turnovers than they forced for the season.
QUOTE TO NOTE "We'll probably take a half a step back with our program in terms of experience, and maybe some talent in some areas. But at the same token, I think it's a wonderful opportunity for the guys that are coming through the door, and we are excited about who we have had a chance to recruit, and we are looking forward to whatever else is ahead for us out there. But yeah, it's going to be a big change in terms of the face of Arkansas basketball." -- Coach John Pelphrey, looking toward the 2008-09 season.
