THE GOOD NEWS
Leading scorer Troy Jackson, a guard, will be back for his senior season after leading the Braves with 15.6 points a game. Anthony Ford averaged 11.5 points a game as a junior from his forward position. Gifford Blakely got some playing time at the center position. The Braves were very seldom blown out in SWAC play and should go into next season with more confidence than they have had the last few years.

THE BAD NEWS
Alex Owumi stepped up and showed some leadership, but Alcorn will lose him to graduation.

KEY RETURNEES
Junior G Troy Jackson led the Braves in scoring at 15.6 points a game and averaged 3.1 rebounds. Junior F Anthony Ford averaged 11.5 points a game and 3.9 rebounds. Gifford Blakely got some quality time at center.

ROSTER REPORT

--Freshman G Derrick Blackwell, from head coach Sam West's hometown of Natchez, Miss., played his most minutes in Alcorn's finale against Prairie View, tying his season high of seven points.

--Freshman F Zach Lewis of Glenmora, La., did not play this season.
