Bulldogs report: Getting inside
Alabama A&M was swept by only two teams in SWAC play -- regular-season champion Alabama State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. So who do the Bulldogs draw in the first round of the SWAC tournament as the No. 3 seed? None other than Arkansas-Pine Bluff, which eliminated the Bulldogs from the tournament for the second time in three years. The Bulldogs suffered a meltdown in the second half, going almost 14 minutes without a field goal. When A&M was on, the Bulldogs were hard to beat, with Mickell Gladness and Trant Simpson providing a tough inside-outside combo. However, in its seven SWAC losses, Alabama A&M averaged only 62.5 points each game. Alabama A&M entered the tournament with a six-game winning streak.
