CBS SPORTS TO BROADCAST FIRST-EVER PGA TOUR PLAYOFF EVENT FOR THE FEDEXCUP AS WORLD'S BEST GOLFERS TEE OFF AT
"THE BARCLAYS" AUGUST 25-26

New York Yankee Captain Derek Jeter Featured in Special Opening for Saturday's Broadcast

The PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup tees off this week at THE BARCLAYS, the first of four playoff tournaments to determine the inaugural FedExCup champion. CBS Sports broadcasts the third and final rounds of the star-powered tournament on Saturday, Aug. 25 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET) and Sunday, Aug. 26 (2:00-6:00 PM, ET), from historic Westchester Country Club in Harrison, N.Y., live on the CBS Television Network.

In a special opening for Saturday's broadcast, New York Yankee captain Derek Jeter talks about his 11 post-season appearances and how New York is the perfect stage to kick off the PGA TOUR Playoffs.

Jim Nantz and Nick Faldo, CBS Sports' golf anchor and lead analyst, respectively, provide commentary from the 18th hole tower. Peter Oosterhuis calls the action at the 17th hole; Gary McCord at the 16th hole; and Ian Baker-Finch at the 15th hole. David Feherty and Peter Kostis serve as on-course reporters.

Three-time Barclays winner Vijay Singh defends his 2006 title after finishing second in the FedExCup regular-season standings, trailing only FedExCup regular-season champion Tiger Woods, who will not be competing this week.

The top 144 players from the PGA TOUR regular season based on FedExCup points earned an invite to The Barclays. Among the players expected to compete in this week's playoff, in order of points standings, are: Singh, Jim Furyk, Phil Mickelson, K.J.Choi, Rory Sabbatini, 2007 Masters® winner Zach Johnson; Charles Howell III, Brandt Snedeker, Adam Scott, Scott Verplank, Steve Stricker, Sergio Garcia, Woody Austin, Hunter Mahan, John Rollins, Boo Weekley, Aaron Baddeley, Ernie Els, Mark Calcavecchia, 2007 British Open winner Padraig Harrington, Justin Rose, Luke Donald, Geoff Ogilvy, David Toms, Stewart Cink, Stuart Appleby, Henrik Stenson, Tim Clark, Trevor Immelman, 2007 U.S. Open winner Angel Cabrera, Lucas Glover, Arron Oberholser, Fred Funk, Retief Goosen, Chris DiMarco and Chad Campbell.
