CBS Sports, CSTV team up for NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship

CBS SPORTS AND CSTV TEAM UP FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR FOR LIVE COVERAGE OF NCAA® Division I MEN’S AND WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP

CBS Sports and CSTV team up for the second consecutive year to provide live coverage for the 2007 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships with five hours on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9, from Sacramento, Calif.

The event is highlighted by CBS Sports’ live broadcast for the second consecutive year on Saturday, June 9 (1:00-3:00 PM, ET) when the 2007 men’s and women’s team champions are crowned. This is only the second time since 1982 that the final day of competition is broadcast live.

Saturday’s coverage includes the Men’s and Women’s 100, 200 and 400 Meters finals. New collegiate record-holder Walter Dix of Florida State is the one to watch in the Men’s 200 as he looks to help his team repeat as champions. Also featured is the Men’s and Women’s Triple Jump final, the Men’s and Women’s Shot Put final and the Men’s and Women’s 4x400 Relay, all of which factor into the team standings.

CSTV broadcasts three-hours of action on Friday, June 8 (8:30-11:30 PM, ET). This marks the second straight year and the second time in the event’s 87-year history that the third day has been broadcast live.

CSTV’s broadcast is highlighted by the Men’s and Women’s 100, the Men’s and Women’s 4x100 Relay finals, the Men’s 110 Hurdles final, the Women’s 100 hurdles final and the Men’s and Women’s 5000 Meters finals.

CBS Sports’ Ian Eagle, 1976 NCAA Outdoor High Jump Champion Dwight Stones, 1983 and 1985 NCAA Outdoor Long Jump Champion Carol Lewis and 1995 and 1996 NCAA Champion Ato Boldon call the action from Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex for both CBS Sports and CSTV. CBS Sports’ Craig Silver serves as producer for both broadcasts.

Tony Petitti is Executive Vice President and Executive Producer CBS Sports.
