Nebraska-Kearney Uses Long Ball To Defeat Metro State, 13-4

GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. -- Nebraska-Kearney hit five home runs on the night and defeated Metro State, 13-4, in the second round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference baseball tournament, Thursday evening at Suplizio Field.

The Lopers led 7-0 after four innings. The Roadrunners scored three in the fifth and one more in the sixth but couldn't overcome the deficit.

Kyle Christensen had a three-run home run in the fifth, while Reece Gorman went 5-for-5 in the contest. Brad Hull had two home runs and four RBI in the game for Nebraska-Kearney.

With the win, the Lopers improve to 29-22 overall, while Metro State falls to 16-34 overall. The RMAC Tournament continues Friday at Mesa State. Mesa State and New Mexico Highlands also won in Thursday's action.
