Hall of Famer Karrie Webb Defends Title as Annika Sorenstam Shoots for Fourth Championship in Last Seven Years
CBS Sports presents final-round coverage of the LPGA KRAFT NABISCO CHAMPIONSHIP on Sunday, April 1 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET) live from Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. as the LPGA TOUR tees off with its first major championship of the year.
Defending champion and No. 3 world-ranked Karrie Webb takes on one of the strongest fields of the year which includes No. 1-ranked Annika Sorenstam, looking to win her fourth LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship title in the past seven years, and her 11th major victory overall. Webb, a LPGA TOUR and World Golf Halls of Famer, earned her second Kraft Nabisco Championship last year on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff with young Mexican sensation Lorena Ochoa. Webb will be aiming for her third title here and eighth major victory.
The 2007 LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship field includes the LPGA’s top players in the world including Ochoa and Christie Kerr who are looking for their first major win, Paula Creamer, Japanese stars Ai Miyazato and Shiho Ohyama, South Koreans Se Ri Pak, Jeong Jang, Birdie Kim and Grace Park, Julie Inkster, Michelle Wie, Natalie Gulbis and Morgan Pressel.
Verne Lundquist serves as CBS Sports’ host of Sunday’s final-round coverage along with Judy Rankin in the 18th tower. Beth Daniel, Jane Crafter, Donna Andrews and Charlie Rymer round out the announce team.
