Micah's Past Picks
The Phillies had a four-game win streak snapped by the slumping Anaheim Angels. But tonight the Phillies send Spencer Turnbull to the mound and he has gone four and one so far. He's allowed one run in his last two starts and he's allowed only five for the season. He's going he's going to take care of the Angels.
Houston beat Cleveland three times the last time they met last season. But this one has caught my eye because Hunter Brown has been, let's just say terrible. He has five starts this season and five losses. That's a total of 20 runs allowed. That's 20 runs in five starts. Carlos Carrasco is only a little bit better but the price is right to take Cleveland to win.
The Twins have won five straight over the White Sox including four this year. The White Sox got on with their 2024 season finally with the sweep of the Rays 3-0 so now they have five wins on the season. They just faced the Twins and lost four straight. Twins have won seven in a row. The Twins have the third-best bullpen sporting a 2.62 ERA and a .206 batting average allowed. The price is cheap because all of a sudden the White Sox appear good with their three-game win streak so we'll take the Twins to win.
The Dodgers have won seven of nine against the Blue Jays and their red hot coming in with the five-game win streak, their bat started heating up. They exploded for 12 runs yesterday. Tyler Glasnow has been almost perfect, four wins one loss, and he comes off his best outing with seven shutout innings in a 10-nothing win over the Mets. I'm on the Dodgers to win.
The Padres have beaten the Rockies seven out of eight times. Randy Vasquez made his first start for the Padres and lost to Toronto 5-2 allowing four runs in five innings. But the bet here is against Dakota Hudson who hasn't won in four starts for the Rockies and it's been him that's been the culprit of the losses. He's allowed 15 runs in four starts already. I'm taking the Padres.
The Royals like winning better than losing, they've won the last two against the Blue Jays after losing seven straight to them between last year and this year. It's a new brand of Royals. But Jose Berrios is on another planet. He hasn't allowed a run in his last three starts and has allowed three runs total on the season. He's won all five of his starts. It's the best run of his career. So I'm not betting against him and I don't care who is pitching for the Royals. He's cheap and he's on a vibe that I'm going to ride. Blue Jays to win.
We're going to ride Cleveland's five game win streak against the Red Sox who they've beat four of five this season. Cleveland is 17-6 this season for a profit of plus 1135. Cooper Criswell started on the 13th against the Angels and went four innings and allowed two runs. Carlos Carrasco has allowed four runs in his last three starts. The Cleveland bullpen is number two in ERA. Cleveland to win.
The Angels ended a five-game win streak by beating the Orioles 7-4 last night. Angels are 10-14 and the Orioles are 15-8 and look every bit as good as last season. The Orioles have also gone 14-7 to the over. Dean Kremer has allowed 11 runs in his last two starts and he hasn't won since his opener. Tyler Anderson has lost his last two starts. Orioles win a scramble game but the over is the best play.
The Giants could make it back to .500 on the season with a win and have won three of their last four while the Mets have lost three straight after winning 6 straight. Sean Manaea has been good in three of his last four starts but the one he was bad he was real bad allowing eight runs. He's won two of his last three. Blake Snell is a real mystery he allowed 12 runs in his last two starts and he's lost all four of his starts. The Mets win.
The Bucks don't have Giannis but it doesn't matter because the Pacers beat them four of five meetings during the regular season. They just had too much for the Bucks. Over went three and two in the five meetings. The Pacers went six and two in the last eight of the season including beating OKC and Miami. The Bucks have lost six of their last eight games and are fading fast. The Pacers steal game one.
Toronto goes for the sweep San Diego today and has won six of the last seven games. San Diego has lost three in a row. We get Chris Bassitt on the mound where he's won two straight and then in both he allowed one run. He's dialed in. As opposed to Joe Musgrove who looks scattered all over the place. I'm on the Blue Jays to win and complete the sweep this week.
The Royals won yesterday and makes them 2-2 against the Orioles this year. Cole Ragan is on the mound for the Royals and they're 1-3 behind him although he hasn't allowed any runs in two starts. Bad luck in his last start no runs for six innings and the team got the loss against the Mets. The Orioles have been perfect with Corbin Burnes. They've won all four of his starts and he hasn't allowed more than three rounds in any start. Orioles are the play.
Suns have won the last four meetings with the Timberwolves and they've covered the last nine meetings. That's a nine and 0 ATS trend that's hard to ignore. But Minnesota is better than both losses this year show. The two losses were at the end of the year, while for most of the year, the Suns were struggling but came on at the end of the season with 48 wins. The Timberwolves finished with 56 wins and slowed down towards the end of the season. I think the Timberwolves in the playoffs will be a problem for a tired Suns squad that never came together.
The 76ers have fought back and shown what they're made of with their star Joel Embiid playing, covering 10 straight and winning eight straight. They beat the Heat by five at Miami during the streak. Embiid sat out the last game at home against Brooklyn but he's good to go and ready for the challenge of the playoffs. Sixers cover this game.
The Kings had a rough stretch to close out the season losing five of seven games with their only wins coming against Portland at home and at the Brooklyn Nets. The Warriors are playing the strongest of their season winning 10 of their final 12 in the most desperate spot of the season. This to me is a mismatch. If the game were played in January it be the Kings all day but a lot of things have happened since then. Warriors to cover.
